Improved Thermal Performance of Combined Convection and Radiation Using Room Air Conditioner

This study aims to evaluate the indoor thermal environment within a detached residence in summer by applying combined convection and radiation air conditioning system using refrigerant gas of room conditioners (RACs). First, field measurements were performed at Hiroshima, Japan, July August 2021. Consequently, PMV values generally maintained comfortable range during air-conditioning operation. The amount heat generated (via RAC unit) Qc that panel) Qr determined as 426 259 W, respectively, overall Qtotal was 685 W.
